This policy describes how ModelThis, developed and operated by Desert Gardens Software, LLC (“Desert Gardens Software,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), handles information in the ModelThis app and through ModelThis Support. You can reach ModelThis Support at support@modelthis.app.
Your calculations and saved data
Calculations run in the ModelThis app. ModelThis does not use an advertising profile or third-party analytics service to process the financial values you enter. You can use calculations without creating a ModelThis account.
ModelThis can store working and saved app data such as loan models, debt and payoff plans, budgets and spending entries, real-estate models, renovation budgets, investment models, net-worth items and snapshots, comparison sets, names, notes, assumptions, and related planning inputs. Some quick Everyday Money entries may remain only in the working view rather than the saved-model library.
iCloud sync
ModelThis Plus can use Apple iCloud and CloudKit to keep supported saved ModelThis data available across your signed-in Apple devices, including iPhone, iPad, and Mac. Sync availability depends on your Apple Account, iCloud settings, network connection, and Apple services. ModelThis does not operate a separate username-and-password account system for this sync. Apple processes iCloud data under Apple’s own terms and privacy policies.
If iCloud sync is unavailable, supported app data may remain available locally on the device. Removing the app or changing device or iCloud settings can affect locally stored or synchronized data. Device backups may also contain app data depending on your Apple backup settings.
Exporting and sharing PDFs
When you choose Export PDF, ModelThis creates a report from the current supported model or comparison. The report may contain names, amounts, terms, assumptions, and planning results shown in the app. The system share sheet lets you choose whether to save, print, or share the report. ModelThis does not automatically send the PDF to us or to another person. Copies you save or share are handled by the destination app, service, or recipient.
ModelThis Plus subscriptions
ModelThis Plus is an optional auto-renewing subscription, currently offered at $2.99 per month. Purchases, renewals, cancellations, and restores are processed by Apple through the App Store and StoreKit. Desert Gardens Software does not receive your payment-card details. Purchasing, renewing, restoring, or validating a subscription may require an internet connection and your Apple Account.
Advertising and analytics
ModelThis does not contain advertising, advertising trackers, or third-party analytics tools. The app does not request access to your contacts or location for its financial-modeling features.
Contacting support
Contact Support can open a draft in your email app. ModelThis may fill in our support address and a subject, but it does not attach your calculations or send a message automatically. You choose what to include and whether to send it.
If you email us, we receive the email address and sender name supplied by your email service, plus the message and attachments you choose to send. We use that information to reply, troubleshoot issues, and improve ModelThis. Please avoid sending passwords, full account numbers, or other sensitive information that is not needed to explain your question.
Service providers and sharing
Apple provides App Store, StoreKit, iCloud, CloudKit, device backup, and related platform services. Our support mailbox is hosted through Yahoo Mail. Those providers process information under their own terms and privacy policies. We do not sell support correspondence or use it for advertising.
We may disclose support information when reasonably necessary to provide support through our service providers, comply with legal obligations, or protect against fraud, abuse, or security threats.
Retention and deletion
Saved app data can be edited or deleted through ModelThis where the applicable feature provides those controls. iCloud synchronization may propagate supported changes or deletions across your devices. We keep support correspondence only as long as reasonably needed to handle the request, resolve related issues, and meet applicable legal obligations. Email and Apple service providers may retain data according to their own policies.
You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of support information you have sent us by emailing support@modelthis.app. We may need to verify that the request concerns your information.
